I know I haven’t posted in days – part of that is due to watching the Track & Field first thing in the morning. Another part is due to getting chores done. The largest part though is due to hands that just aren’t working properly. Today’s photos are random shots I had taken over the past month.
I know I have to increase the dosage of my new pill and I will. That was delayed because I messed up my hip when I was splitting wood and wound up stoned on pain killers for 2 days. Life is one big adventure! š
My last post was that update on the Salmon nets and things got weird later that day. We’re waiting to find out what’s going on and I’ll let you know as soon as we do. In the meantime, I have a theory but I could be way off base – so to be safe I’ll just say “stay tuned”.
I have had one triumph in the past couple of days. You know those smoke detectors that last for ten years (supposedly)? There was one installed in this house when I arrived 4 years ago and it has a label saying it should be replaced by 2025. This was an optimistic end-of-life estimate because it started screaming at me that it was done.
You can’t open them up because the manufacturer doesn’t want you to just change the battery. I tried anyway so I could disconnect it and make it stop the noise. I didn’t want to put it in the garbage and have it screeching out in the yard – particularly since it’s recycling week and it would have been serenading the neighbourhood for 2 weeks. sigh
After a number of attempts to break into it, with a variety of tools, I changed my approach. I took it outside, laid it carefully on the driveway, and then used my 15 pound sledge hammer to break it into tiny pieces. At that point it was not at all difficult to pull the wires off the @*)$%@%*) battery. It was very therapeutic. š
I’ll be back when my hands calm down. grin
I would have done the same thing with that smoke detector! lol
